Abstract This paper describes phonological rules of Tatar language as a part of a two-level morphological analyzer. The morphological analyzer has been implemented using the PC-KIMMO environment and can serve not only as formal base for translation systems, human-machine interface and spelling checkers, but also as the data base for studying morphology of the Tatar. It is known that the Tatar as the agglutinative language, such as the rest of Turkic languages, has a rather complicated, but regular and rich morphology. Therefore our goal is gaining of formal base for construction of the effective language for the artificial intelligence systems that allow to collect, store, process and transfer the information with the use of minimal memory due to its natural compression, minimal time for generation and distinguishing because of its being regular.
