Computer bank of place names in the European North of Russia: The TORIS

Abstract. The article describes an approach to the creation of the computer data bank for storaging and multi-purpose processing place names (Russian, Balto-Fennic and Saam) in the European North of Russia. This data bank is accessible though the Internet (http://toris.krc.karelia.ru).
