The International Mathematical Union has decided to create an Electronic World Directory of Mathematicians (short: EWDM). The basic version of the EWDM became operational on December 1, 2004. To join the EWDM, just go to http://www.mathunion.org/ewdm/join.php and register your name, e-mail address, and the URL of your homepage. The EWDM will replace the printed World Directory of Mathematicians whose publication has been discontinued in 2002.

The International Mathematical Union (IMU) asks every mathematician to set up and maintain a personal homepage. IMU requests to offer the homepage in a user-friendly way. IMU suggests to structure the homepage along the lines of the Mathematician's Professional Homepage (MPH). Members of the Konrad-Zuse-Zentrum in Berlin (ZIB) have programmed a tool with which a homepage in the MPH style can be created easily.
