This section contains a server database for ceramic exhibits found at archaeological excavations. Users can calculate online the characteristics (like the volume, curvature, etc) of pottery work items and visualize their shapes. One can also "reconstruct" pottery exemplars from their fragments by using methods of mathematical statistics.

The application allows one to restore characteristic diameters and the initial weight of a coin from the image and the weight of its fragment. A user has to upload an image of a fragment as a file in a graphic format (jpg or gif).
Various tools (like the "rubber band", "brash", or "lasso") are proposed for solving the image recognition problem.

The application allows one to define the most probable sex of the cattle from 4 dimensions of metapodia. Calculations are performed by the
method of discriminant analysis.
See the following paper for the description of the method, the data on the metacarpuses of the cattle of the Kalmyk and other breeds, and the results of calculations: E.A. Begovatov and A.G. Petrenko. Determination of the withers height of the cattle in archeology // Kazan, KSU, 1994. The initial data and results of calculations (in XLS format) from the above paper NB!
